Alastair Cook smiles in amusement as England cruises
towards victory
England ended their streak of ten tests without a victory, which began in August last year, in style in the fifth morning in Southampton, completing a clinical victory as they didn't allow India even a dominant time in four days and a session. It was almost the perfect test, because not only hitters out of the way of England - under pressure captain Alastair Cook and Ian Bell - make great careers but also connects the hole in their bowling attack, with the completion of one offspinner Moeen Ali six wicket haul to level the series 1-1.

The home side began the day needing six wickets, and India did not offer a semblance of a fight. James Anderson, who faces a possible suspension on your Level 3 hearing on Friday, spotless, again, breaking back in India before leaving the spotlight for Moeen to rotate through the tail. Ajinkya Rahane remained unbeaten half-century - his second Test - but he ran out of partners ten minutes before lunch.

On the fourth morning, Anderson was scrubbed last two wickets in India to gorillas. Today we got rid of Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni in the first half hour with their shooting actions. Both batsmen were floating freely on the front foot and went to Jos Buttler, who finished his test debut with six receptions, a score of 85 versus 83 balls, and numerous recreational diving saves. There was a debate on the decision to Rohit - Snicko indicates an edge, Hot Spot not - but there is no doubt about Dhoni. First spell read 6-2-11-2 Anderson and he got his second Man-of-the-Match award in the series.
Moeen Ali played a crucial role in England's victory
by taking six wickets.

Moeen had hurt India on the fourth day, dismissing Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara in quick succession, and wasted no time in adding to his account. Ravindra Jadeja, who had a bad test score, completed a poor with the bat also in almost yorking himself and inside a ball-beating fills his stumps. Four balls later Moeen had Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who had exhibited in previous posts better defense than several higher-order India batsmen, caught in the gully with offbreak that bounced sharply, hit the inside edge and threw it off the pad.

Mohammed Shami and Pankaj Singh, of India No. 10 and 11, gave Moeen view of his stumps and rapidly lost to supplies that are not as much as the expected time hitters. With match figures of 8-129, Moeen had shaken the perception that he is a part-time spinner.
